Ripple was pleased to announce the winners to this year’s Innovation in Research & Technology Competition at the annual Ripple SfN social, held this year at Old City Hall restaurant on Nov. 4th. The winners of the contest were:
Vincent McGinty, PhD
Assistant Professor
Rutgers University
Vincent McGinty will be using his new Nomad system to investigate decision making, in particular by attempting to modulate the subjective value of an available reward, and therefore behavior, through microstimulation of the orbitofrontal cortex in nonhuman primates.
James Trevathan
Doctoral Candidate
Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences
James Trevathan plans to use his new Scout system to investigate desynchronizing thalomocortical oscillations using peripheral nerve stimulation in rat models, with the end goal of understanding how to mitigate these oscillations to provide novel and more widely applicable neuromodulation therapies.
